Thousands Attend to Celebrate Game Music with the Las Vegas Philharmonic

Reviewers Call Video Games Live "The Greatest Show On Earth!"

Saturday, June 14th, 2008 at the Henderson Pavilion with the Las Vegas Symphony was the scene for the very first video game concert in Nevada.  Thousands showed up in force to support game music and Video Games Lives' quest to show the world how artistic and culturally significant video games have become.  Aside from all the fan favorites like Mario, Zelda, Halo, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Warcraft, Medal Gear Solid, Sonic and others, Frank Klepacki and his band were on hand to perform the world premiere of the award winning Command & Conquer series along with the Las Vegas Symphony.  World famous television, movie and game voice actor Dee Baker (Halo, Metal Gear Solid, Kingdom Hears, Gears of War, etc.) was also on hand premiering a new interactive segment in which he reprised his role as the Beserker from Gears of War and delivered a real time sound recreation as the game played on screen.

"The Greatest Show On Earth" -

"I don’t have the words - it was incredible.  I mean, the whole experience was just mindblowing.  Seeing something that you’ve held close for a long time put in the spotlight and validated like that; it’s a great experience.  Better than I expected, even.  There were even a couple times where I got all misty-eyed - it was THAT good."

"The concert last night in Henderson was absolutely phenomenal!!  It was my first time going and I was blown away! Absolutely superb! I applaud you all on your greatness!!"

"When you think of a show being performed by an orchestra, you don't really expect the crowd to be shouting, hollering and laughing during the performance. Video Games Live brought together a group of people in a unique environment that was easily one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life."

"If this show comes to your town, you need to go and witness it for yourself.  Words cannot adequately describe the atmosphere and fun that this simple premise has produced."

"There was nothing that I did not like at this show, besides the fact I didn't bring a camera.  Everything was on point, the music was great, the visuals were funny and/or entertaining, and I really hope they come back to Vegas next year.  Great job VGL, hope to see you guys again next year!"
"This show was great!  If it comes to Vegas every year, I'm gonna be there every year!"
"Three hours of nostalgic video game music bliss.  I loved the music choices and compositions. This was the best experience I've had at the symphony.  Even my eight-year old stayed awake with eyes glued to the stage late into the night.  I can't wait until they come back."

"I went in expecting them to put on a good show, but it was even better than I thought it would be!  My congratulations to Tommy and Jack, all the performers, and everyone involved in putting this outstanding show together!"

"I was glad to hear Tommy say "See you next year!" at the end of the show.  I'll take that to mean that he plans on coming back.  And if they come back, then I will definitely be there again!"
"Video Games Live was so inspirational and ardent.  It was amazing."

"ZOMG! It was friggin' brilliant."

"Rave reviews from everyone that I spoke with."

"Looking at the performance as a whole, it was brilliant.  Glad to hear that their show numbers are growing at an exponential rate.  If you are on the fence about seeing them when they come to a theater near you, DO IT!  You will not regret it.  You have no idea how much balls this kicked."

"It was awesome!  Tommy and Aktrez were awesome and the whole thing was phenomenal!  Can't wait to see everyone again at Comic-Con!"

"A celebration of the gaming world!"
