VIDEO GAMES LIVE MAKES ST. LOUIS DEBUT!
First Video Game Concert in St. Louis to Take Place at Historic Venue
St. Louis, MO – VIDEO GAMES LIVE, a complete celebration and multimedia concert experience featuring music from the most popular video games of all time, makes its St. Louis debut at the Fabulous Fox Theatre on Saturday, January 26. Show time is 7:30 p.m. and ticket prices are $42.50, $37.50 & $32.50.
It’s the power & emotion of a symphony orchestra mixed with the excitement and energy of a rock concert and the technology and interactivity of a video game all completely synchronized to amazing cutting edge video screen visuals, state-of-the art lighting and special on-stage interactive segments with the audience.
The Fox Theatre is the most famous theatre in St. Louis, Missouri. "The Fabulous Fox" or "The Fox", as locals call it, is located in the arts district of the Grand Center area in Midtown St. Louis, one block north of Saint Louis University. It was designed in the 1920s by an architect specializing in theaters, C. Howard Crane in a style known as Siamese Byzantine. Originally opened in 1929 by William Fox as a movie palace for silent films, the Fox has survived through the years, and is now a versatile theater. The Fox currently seats 4,278 theatergoers plus 234 in the private Fox Club.
VIDEO GAMES LIVE is a multimedia concert experience featuring the best music and exclusive synchronized video clips from the most popular games from the beginning of video gaming to the present. Performed by top orchestras and choirs, the show combines exclusive video footage and music arrangements with synchronized lighting, solo performers, special FX, electronic percussionists and unique interactive segments. Whether it’s the power and passion of the more recent blockbusters or the excitement of remembering the sentimental classics you played growing up, it will truly be a special night to remember. The show has a segment dedicated to the old retro arcade classics – but there is also modern music and older, more memorable pieces that no one has ever heard played live.
A show created and produced by actual video game composers, Tommy Tallarico & Jack Wall (creators & executive producers) are personally involved in every show. Aside from producing, Jack is on stage for every show conducting the orchestra and choir while Tommy is the host and emcee. The video game industry puts on the show to help encourage and support the culture and art that video games have become. The video game music of today is just as significant and notable as any movie score. VIDEO GAMES LIVE bridges a gap for entertainment by exposing new generations of music lovers and fans to the symphonic orchestral experience while also providing a completely new and unique experience for families and non-gamers.
2007 was a momentous year for VIDEO GAMES LIVE selling out such locations as Jones Hall in Houston, two nights at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., Jack Singer Concert Hall in Calgary and the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. Other highlights included helping to launch the brand new 7,100 seat LA Live Nokia Theater, worldwide media coverage including the main performing act on Spike TV’s Video Games Award show, a major worldwide record deal announcement with EMI Classics (available in 2008) and recipient of the “Special Breakthrough Achievement Award” for their three weeks of sold out performances in Brazil.
The show features audience participation with special interactive segments where people are randomly picked from the audience to come up and compete while the orchestra plays the music in perfect synchronization with the visuals on screen. For 2008, VIDEO GAMES LIVE has refurbished and added to its already successful formula by including new material!
