Los Angeles – June 29, 2005 –  Renowned video game composers, Tommy Tallarico (Advent Rising, Tony Hawk Pro Skater, Earthworm Jim) and Jack Wall (Jade Empire, Myst III:  Exile, Splinter Cell), and Clear Channel Music Group today announced the pre-show festival events planned for the July 6th Hollywood Bowl debut of Video Games Live, an immersive music and video concert experience.  Co-executive produced by Tallarico’s and Wall’s Mystical Stone Entertainment LLC, and Clear Channel Music Group, Video Games Live features music from some of the biggest video games performed by top orchestras and choirs across the country combined with video footage, lasers, lights and live action to create an explosive and unique entertainment experience. 

 

In order to start the tour with a bang, Video Games Live is pulling out all the stops and presenting a pre-show festival from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. on July 6th at the Hollywood Bowl, free to all ticket holders. The highlight of the festival and pre-show events will be a meet and greet for fans with renowned game designers and game industry luminaries from all over the world including:

Additionally, the festival will feature a live performance by pianist Martin Leung – best known as “The Blindfolded Pianist.”  Martin became an Internet celebrity after over 40 million people downloaded a video of him playing tunes from the classic Mario games blindfolded (http://videogamepianist.com). 

 

The Video Games Live Hollywood Bowl pre-show festival will feature Videotopia, an exhibit chronicling the history of video games. Videotopia details the evolution of arcade games via informational kiosks and displays that take visitors through the history and technology in a way that is fun, nostalgic, and educational (http://www.videotopia.com/).

 

The festival will also include a costume contest presented by 1UP.com (http://www.1up.com) for which audience members will come dressed as their favorite character.  The winner will receive a Sony PSP, an autographed poster (signed by special guests and composers), and a Video Games Live goodie bag.  The top 5 costumes will have their pictures posted on the official Video Games Live website.   

 

Video Games Live also announced today that two more game titles have been added to the already outstanding lineup of games previously announced.  Music and images from hit games Kingdom Hearts and God of War™ will join the originally announced lineup which includes Mario™, Zelda®, Halo®, Metal Gear Solid®, Warcraft®, Myst®, Castlevania®, Medal of Honor™, Sonic™, Tron©, Tomb Raider®, Advent Rising, Headhunter, Beyond Good & Evil™, Splinter Cell®, Ghost Recon™, Rainbow Six®, EverQuest® II and a classic arcade game medley featuring games from Pong® to Donkey Kong®.
