French comic book artist and author of storyboards and concept designs to numerous science fiction and fantasy films including Tron, Alien and The Fifth Element, also co-creator of Silver Surfer comics and author of cover arts for Fade to Black (DOS, PSX) and Panzer Dragoon (Sega Saturn, PC, PS2) died yesterday for reasons not yet known.

By my reckoning, he'd be about 74 by now, which I think is a fairly respectable age to reach, so I'd guess he probably went by old age, or some complication related to living that long.
Though I didn't know his name, it would seem I'm rather familiar with a lot of the projects he's been involved with, so its sad to see that he's gone, but with a legacy like that, I'm certain he won't be forgotten completely!
