Played Uru?
Anyway, don't know if this helps. It is one of the rare features I like in Gamespot.
I have a most Myst games, they came with different editions of an old game magazine that was sold with a game as bonus. I never played them though. What are they like exactly?

I'll take a look at it. Thanks.

And nope, Uru is the only one of the Myst series I haven't tackled yet (well, that and MO:ULagain). But I've hit the main 5, which are all great, in my opinion.

What's what like exactly?

The Myst games are solo adventures where you explore worlds that you "link" to using books. They were worlds created/accessed (I won't get into the theology here haha) by the D'ni people (pronounced dunny). These books are so completely descriptive that they take years to write, and must be done in a certain way with certain types of paper and ink and what-not, and rather than transporting the readers imagination to this new world, they actually create a portal (inside the front cover) that literally takes the reader there. Once there, you just stroll through, pointing the mouse where you want to go and clicking to go there, or pointing the mouse at something you want to look at and clicking on it to see it closer (though this does not always work, some objects you can't get any closer to than you already are). I only ever played it on PC so I don't know what it is like for maneuvering on a PS or anything like that... Anyway, you have multiple puzzles/problems to solve, and you get to explore beautiful, strange places that the D'ni used for the purposed of living, recreation, trade, harvesting food, and much more. Some of the ages were/are populated by indigenous societies. The environments are richly detailed, immersive, and full of music and sound... You wanna hear some fan-flippin-tastic game music? Myst 3 all the way. They can be relaxing, as they don't require a lot of quick reflexes, but they are also richly suspenseful, especially the later titles, as well as some of the puzzles are hard. But i would recommend you trying them out if you are at all interested. Start with the original Myst... it is by far the easiest (and unfortunately the most simple looking graphics-wise :\) when it comes to puzzles, and will introduce you to the series the best, however it is a little more difficult to move around in... From there, play either 2 (Riven) or 3 (Exile). I'm almost certain you can't be disappointed! Unless the puzzles drive you to self-immolation.

LOL for the original misinteroretation

Thanks, I thing I'm going to put them on my "to play" list.

Edit: I'm quite enjoing The Longest Journey, thank you again Swish. There are some puzzles that are really farfetched though. Using an inflamable duck to keep a clamp oppened? Come on...

I'm still playing the original and its definitely an RPG before its a fighting game. Still haven't quite got the technique down yet though...

I'm discovered a game called Synthesia, that is much like Guitar Hero, but for piano. "Piano Hero", if you wish, and it has a payed support for learners, although you can't say you actually can learn to play the piano with it. At the very most, it helps learning how to move your finguers on the keyboard and helps you memorise songs you want.

Anyway, I hijacked my sisters synthetiser, and have been trying to memorise a few songs. So far, I've manged to learn the main parts (for the right hand) of Loss of Me/Rose of May (whatever it's called) from Final Fantasy IX (this version, to be precise).

Sooooo Terraguy you will be pleased to learn that I have finished typing the rough draft of my novel and therefore downloaded and began playing Uru Live last night. Until 1 am. I'm so stupid. And I would have gone longer but I have a 2 year old that gets out of bed at 6 am full of smiles and energy and demands for food, amusement, and potty training.

But I had a blast. And will continue to do so, likely until 1 am again tonight. Proofreading shmoofreading.

Very nice. I, regrettably, have never tackled MO:UL, due to my fear of the learning curve, the dislike of MMOs, and needing more sleep. Especially since I, too, am waking up around that time to prepare to head to work and what not.
