Default ACTA = Apocalypse?

Americans are worried about SOPA, we Europeans (also Poles) are worried about ACTA.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Co...rade_Agreement

Especially Poles are worried because on 26th January cabinet of Poland is going to sign resolution, which will introduce ACTA in Poland.

But Anonymous helped Poland by hacking webpages of polish parliament, government, individual ministries, presently governing parties and also private webpage of polish prime minister.

Similarly like English Wikipedia, Polish version also wants to strike together with other European versions.

I agree! ACTA is a true nightmare of Orwellian proportions!

Everyone must spread this video around which explains it in laymens terms.

ACTA, like all attempts at curtailing Internet freedom, is misguided at best and genuinely frightening at worst, but...

... how exactly does this help?

By hacking those webpages Anonymous wants to show all polish politicians that polish people don't want ACTA in their country. BTW the official reason (according to politicians) of don't working webpages is very big number of access to those pages by normal people.

But surely by engaging in widespread governmental hacking Anonymous will only further the agenda of ACTA's proponents due to the greater ease with which hackers could be identified and prosecuted under those proposals.

Exactly, I don't really agree with ACTA from what I've seen, but many of these lawmakers would just use groups like Anonymous as an example of why they should regulate the internet more. I'm not saying I agree with them (I don't want more government regulation on the internet), but that's probably what they would do.
