Default Re: Chronicles of a Player

So I was gaming the other day. Haven't played anything solid for half a year now, been playing a little P3P here, some Dissidia there.
Been focusing on not gaming solely for the purpose of not flunking (again). So after half a year of not gaming, I come home to finally get some rest (by gaming).

So I booted up my PS3, and I just sat there, playing with the XMB dunno what to do. And I'm so freaking frustrated by this. When I finally get to properly enjoy gaming, I dunno what to play.
It's not that I don't have any games to play. MGS4 finally have trophies now, I haven't finish Ar tonelico Qoga yet, Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2 still needs Platinum-ing.

Not one of these games has made any solid progress, and the new semester had already begun.
I really wonder how people with jobs, some already married, ever manage to enjoy gaming..

A half a year without gaming?! Gosh, I don’t now if I’d be able to do that. Not out of compulsion though, it’s just how different it would be for me not to play games for that long; although, I suppose one may get use it after awhile… maybe.

So what exactly do you mean by being frustrated? Is it the lack of not being as content to playing a game, not having the thrill of getting everything, etc?

It's more like I know for a fact that even if I play anything I know that I won't be able to enjoy it because of other responsibilities.

I can't multitask. Even if I play while studying for example, it must one or the other. There's a lot of games that I've completed during the course of my study but I've very little memory of it in terms of the events happened in the game. It because my priority is on study. If I shift it to gaming, I dare not to do it again.

I see what you’re saying, but I honestly never had that problem when it came to school and gaming; of course, I don’t know how much work you have compared to what I ever did. However, I do know that feeling when you want to enjoy something, but can’t due to something else lurking around.

This is exactly why I'm glad that I've decided to focus on video game theory for a lot of my schoolwork. Then I can convince myself that I'm really studying when I'm playing video games .

So I’ve been playing Halo 4 since launch and a few days ago I had a dream which a video game character was in it. Was it anything from Halo? Nope… Nemesis. BRAIN! WHY U SO RANDOM?! Also just to add that I’ve never played a game with him in it.
