Nice. Would love to go to a show that mainly did Super Mario Brothers.

Double post!
![]() Sooo... I buy my tickets to the LoZ Symphony in NYC for Nov. 28. And then find out there's a VGL concert in Englewood, NJ the next day (which is a weeknight so I probably can't go ). The fact that there are two of these concerts back to back in the area is both awesome and frustrating at the same time ![]()

(Un)Fortunately, I don't have the same "problem" with the Pittsburgh Zelda concert I'll be attending in a few weeks.

haha, some research from either two organizations would be nice when it comes to planning.
Sadly, we don't have a luxury problem like that here.... All we have here is some hip-hop 'artists' r*ping all of the songs and music from modern games (AC, GTA etc...) with mixing them with 'phat beats' Wish some decent gaming-music gig would stand up here... |

Indeed. I've seen a report on that event on tv, and all those 'stereotypical' gamers were shown. Colored people with GTA, fat people with AC and those scrawny nerd types with Warhammer etc. (God, I hate describing people like that, but I didn't know how else to put it haha)
That whole ordeal isn't really good for the image of the music, or even gaming in general! So yeah, I think a gig like VGL would do the whole gamingscene good, and will show that good, wholesome people game too! XD |

I went to the Zelda concert at Toronto's Sony Centre.
For me at least, it blew the pants off of VGL. Bigger orchestra. No backing tracks. Sharp screen. And most of all, non-stop Zelda!!! They had nearly all of my favorites. Great Fairy's Fountain. Lost Woods. Sheik's Theme. Palace from Zelda II. Hyrule Castle from LTTP. Hyrule Field from Twilight Princess. And a Majora's Mask medley! (Clock Town!!!) The arrangements were a mixed bag. Some sounded just like the original tracks, some took a lot of liberties. But everything sounded very good. All that said, it WAS more expensive than VGL, and it doesn't travel everywhere like VGL. And if you don't like Zelda music, well... Only two minor complaints. They should have had a better variety of souvenirs (just one kind of t-shirt and one kind of poster - they would've totally cleaned up on hats & soundtrack albums if they had stocked them), and a few great tracks were missing (Windmill, Stone Tower Temple, Deku Palace, plus a general lack of battle themes). If you like this kind of stuff, SEE IT!!!!!! ![]() |
