Magfest X - Jan. 5 - 8, 2012

So, who's planning on going to Magfest X? I certainly am, and there's one particular reason that would have led me to attend even if I had decided otherwise.

Who missed More Friends and the one US appearance of the Black Mages?

Who missed the Chicago Distant Worlds concerts with Uematsu and the Chicago Mages?

You don't want to miss Magfest X - it's the Earthbound Papas.

If there is no Dancing Mad, I shall rage.

There was Dancing Mad. And the encore was Maybe I'm A Lion. No OWA at all. Quite surprising, but very enjoyable. The CDs they brought also sold out (I didn't get one - $30 for 9 tracks is too rich for me).

The band who went on before the Earthbound Papas (Year 200X) did a thrash version of Dancing Mad as well. Uematsu himself enjoyed it.

Also, the group Descendants of Erdrick had a flautist amongst their group...dressed as Samus. I immediately thought that a flute duel between her and Laura in full Flute-Link regalia was necessary.

I hope you enjoyed DoE! That dude on the bass just happens to be my older brother. They will be playing with brentalfloss (again) as The Cartridge Family at Akon later this year if you wanna take a trip to Dallas!

Cool, Themo. Unfortunately, MAGFest has likely tapped out my con runs for some time. I was considering pulling a two-fer with PAX East, but since they ran out of 3-day passes, I'm thinking that's out.
