I would LOVE to listen to a live full-on orchestra version of 'Darkness Of The Unknown' from Kingdom Hearts II composed by Yoko Shimomura.

It is the music from the combination of 3 final boss fights.
More description below:

---spoiler starts here (highlight to see)---
1. Flying shooting mini game with the huge silver Dragon.
2. Fight Knight Xemnas inside the Dragon's head where buildings are flying at you and you ride them.
3. Fight two white patterned Xemnas.
---spoiler ends here---

To me, that's like the 'One Winged Angel' (Final Fantasy VII) of Kingdom Hearts 2.

The problem I think from playing this song in VGL would be spoilers if they intend to show on the screen with actual final boss fight. I guess they could play the song with misc KH2 stuff on screen, but it wouldn't fit the mood of the music. It would have to be scenes from the final fights.

If VGL does not care about spoilers then it would be absolutely awesome, if it can be played exclusively somewhere (like where I live) or better, be part of their playlist. While you are at it, bring Yoko Shimomura with you.

----
For people whos been to VGL, what do they show on screen when they play One Winged Angel?

Nothing. They don't have the rights to any video right now. And the same goes with Kingdom Hearts I think.

I think that if they were to do something from Kingdom Hearts II, it should be 'Fantasia alla Marcia for piano, chorus, and orchestra', the song that plays during the credits. A song like 'Darkness of the Unknown' raises a number of questions; would it stand without video? how would they end the song? should it be part of medley of other songs?

I, personally, think that it'd be great if they could get a medley of songs from KHII, like 'The 13th Dilemma' and 'Tension Rising'.

Absolutely. If anything, Kingdom Hearts II music should include the excellent "March Caprice for Piano and Orchestra" and "Fantasia Alla Marcia for Piano, Chorus, and Orchestra"... and throw in the instrumental versions of "Hikari" and "Passion". :D

On the other hand, I doubt they'd be able to play them all, unless there's a medley...
Oh yes, "The 13th Dilemma" is an excellent song (but I still prefer the fuller "Another Side").

Oh, and although we'd have no idea what they'd play during "One Winged Angel" if they got the video rights, I believe that they'd show the infamous scene of Sephiroth walking through the flames. After all, that scene is synonymous with both Sephiroth and "One Winged Angel" (and has been used countless times during the Dear Friends concerts).

That is a marvelous piece. My favorite portion is the middle. However, considering it effectively covers three battles, it's closer to Dancing Mad than One-Winged Angel, I think (by comparison, Jenova Absolute, Birth of a God, and One-Winged Angel combined are equivalent to Dancing Mad).

Yeah... Square doesn't let any game concerts use video. I have the Kingdom Hearts II soundtrack on order and will definitely be checking out all of the above suggestions.

Would that be the regular KH2 soundtrack or the upcoming Kingdom Hearts Complete 9-disc box set? If it's the latter, that's a lotta scratch there, Tommy; the thing's 15000 yen (well over $100). Still, it is supposed to be the better version, overseen personally by Yoko Shimomura (she didn't have a say in the original release and it shows). As far as I know, it's two discs of KH, 4 discs of KH2 (the original was only two as the songs did not loop twice and fade out, as per normal game soundtrack standards), 2 discs of Chain of Memories (not sure if it's GBA-based or PS2-based), and 1 final disc with all the extra tracks from the Final Mix releases of KH and KH2.

Is it worth the price tag? You be the judge.

I'm looking forward to that box set actually. Although I already have the soundtracks for KH, KH:FM, and KHII, I'll be glad to hear the tracks from Chains of Memories and KHII:FM. (Talking about Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix, what's the remix called on the Japanese KHII:FM website? It's some great music there!)
