Hey, I totally started a topic for once! :P

Anyway, for the official description of this band:

"Descendants of Erdrick is a rock band dedicated to recreating classic video game music on real, sweaty instruments; from the well-known, time-honored tunes of Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda, to the epic arrangements of Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger, with a few obscure tunes in between. Established in 2009 by musicians who grew up with controllers in their hands, later replaced with musical instruments, the band's mission is to convey through performance the excitement they feel for these quality songs.

The name of the group is an homage to one of the first console RPG's, Dragon Warrior (Dragon Quest in Japan), wherein the player is a "descendant" of the legendary hero, Erdrick. Descendants of Erdrick seek to captivate audiences of all levels through energetic and engaging performances of a style of music often heard but rarely performed."

Fun Fact: that's my brother on bass.... ok, fact's not all that interesting, but *shrug*

They've been doing pretty decently for themselves. They released an album called "Down, Right, Heavy", which was just recently made available on iTunes, Amazon, Napster and Thinkindie.

Some pretty big news I'd like to share but not make a new thread for! :)

Taken from the Player's Pulse website:

The Descendants of Erdrick (based out of Austin, TX) have been invited to play at this year’s E3 event in Los Angeles in June, but they have a bit of a problem. Their kicka** ability to play versions of your favorite videogame tunes helped get the gig (click here for their medley of Castlevania), but actually affording the trip is quite difficult. The band has turned to their fans for donations and have offered up some nice incentives to help sweeten up the deal a little bit:

$10 donation will give you a .zip file of various video game song covers (done by Lobos — the guitarist)
$20 donation will reward you with a video game song cover OF YOUR CHOICE (also done by Lobos)
That’s right, you can finally hear a kickin' version of the Adventures of Lolo theme (or if you’re me, the intro theme for Rambo on the NES). I don’t want to spoil what’s inside the .zip folder, but I will say that I was surprised to see a couple of Nintendo 64 and Dreamcast songs included in the mix! Also, if the names Tim and Geoff Follins means anything to you, then I suggest you donate immediately. You will not be disappointed.

You can like Descendants of Erdrick on Facebook if you want any more info on all of that.

I'unno, man! You could maybe pretend to be the band's new kazoo player.

"Nah man, they totally use kazoo in the Metroid soundtrack. I'm pretty sure Zelda has some too." :P
