So a few minutes ago I turned to G4 to watch XPlay, but it wasn't playing....

It tells me that it no longer serves G4...

FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Appearently, the channel wasn't doing too well with the Neilson ratings so Direct TV cut it off. G4 has been trying to it itself back on, but Direct hasn't agreed to anything as of now. I admit, most of the line up never appealed to me; XPlay was the only show I cared for. I'm just really disappointed because it 'kind of' hurts the gaming industry. No more live TV coverage of E3; sure I can watch it on the net, but that's different.

Sigh... :(

Yep, i read about it a while ago, that G4 was looking likely to not make it back onto DirecTV. Personally, this doesn't really affect me, since I dont watch TV nor have TV, but it does suck that a gaming-centric channel is now off-air.

The problem is that G4 isn't all that gamer-centric anymore. A few years back, specifically after the buyout of its network rival TechTV, the management types decided the gaming viewer base was insufficient to sustain the network. They basically started turning the channel into Spike Lite. Now they've lost so much market share that they've been taken off of DirecTV. Such sweet irony.

Oh. Well, I guess that's news to me.

Big deal, x play isn't that great anyway. Only time I really pay attention is when they cover E3 and comic con. Now reviews on the run, on the other hand...:p

So then...... what channel does Reviews On the Run play on and what is the schedule.....?

Spike does have Game Trailers TV, but I don't like staying up late and it's only one episode a week.
