Yes, I know you were just here, but the show was awesome and you should definitely come back very very soon. I want to see another show for next year. I know I can't be the only one that wants you to come back.

Unless Tommy is very misleading and wants us to go to another city he did say "See you next year" at Saturday's performance. So, we'll hope.

Please come back, It was such a good experience that I want to force my family to come along next time. They are the kind that wouldn't want to go just because it says "Video Game" in the title, but I know you could help open their eyes :D

When you do, I recommend having some sort of Earthworm Jim segment, or you'll have same weird guys in suits and tuxes yelling at you and Tommy.

When you come back, you may not see all of us in suits. Tommy made a promise that if one us dressed up in a certain costume, we'd automatically win the costume contest. We just need a date so that work can be done on this costume.
I got a thing from the Utah Symphony with their schedule filled up through I believe May of next year. I'm assuming a return date would be after that, or are there dates between concerts that you could come in on?

I actually know the people that where in those suits. I work in the same place that they do but I work as a cashier in the cafateria. When the told me it was them that yelled EARTHWORM JIM I thought it was funny.
I wonder if the one that posted the message that I have in quotes is the same person that I know from work. Well I'll find out on Tuesday.
To Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall. Thank you for coming to Salt Lake. I thought that the day VGL came here would never happed. I'm glad I'm wrong. That was the greatest night of my life and I can't wait till next year. I'm serious, I've actually had dreams about it. Wierd huh? Anyway, Tommy, Jack, and the Utah Symphony and Opera did an excellent job. The music was played beautifully. A COMPLIMENT to the Videogame industry.
Well, once again, I'll see you next year. Hopefully, they will play the music from the Lunar series.

That would be no. I assume you work for ARUP. I am not one of those. Only 4 of the 8 that went work there. Actually 3 now.
I don't see SLC on the newly released list for next year... Let's just say I'm somewhat concerned at the moment.

Worried here as well.
I went to the Ogden show with a group of friends and loved it. I was looking forward to seeing the show at a larger venue next year.

I can't wait to see it again. Last year was a blast and I'm 100% positive it will be again.
I knew VGL will be coming back to SLC this year. The people that I work with confirmed from Tommy himself that it would be back. Tommy, made good on his word.
SEE YA SOON!!!

Yes, I am definitely getting tickets again, though probably not in the front row, they were not that great last time.

Yeah! I always tell people that the front row isn't the best seats for VGL. I think the best are between 10 - 20 rows back in the center. That way you can see the whole show and the lights look a lot better.

I was in the first row, and it wasn't that bad. You get to see the people on stage up close. :D
But i might see about getting an area around where you suggested, and especially if i manage to drag my entire family along instead of just my sister, the front row was so expensive. :(
Now can someone give me the url to the updated tour list? I haven't seen anything about salt lake at all, and i check all the time. I was starting to doubt you guys were coming back at all..
If you guys come back think it will be in the same place?
And this year i'll have my Link costume finished and not just the wig, woo!
..Yes, I'm getting too excited

Well, the tour list is still at the same place, the Tour Dates (http://www.videogameslive.com/index.php?s=dates) page. It seems as if they still haven't come up with a concrete date yet.

I saw two places that i don't think exist the locations are Edmonton,BC and Calgary, BC
I googled them and it doesn't look like they exist is it a typo or am i wrong?
It's still TBA but it's bugging me a bit.

I think the webmaster did a phase shift and caused all the letter to go to the next one. It probably should be AB, not BC (that's what I'm assuming).

I'm still slightly worried about Salt Lake City, or anywhere in Utah for that matter, being taken off the list.
Hopefully it's just an oversight and we'll get it back on there soon?

Yeah, I'm not too happy about the absence of a Utah show. I went to the Weber State show last year and since the tour list was put up I have been super excited for another show this year. I've even been recruiting people to go. I really hope a Utah show happens.

I think at this point we need to give up hope for another Utah show this year, and start hoping for one next year.

Because we were uncertain about all of our European, Brazilian and Asian dates we were leaving certain cities open for consideration in case we couldn't get all of the other dates... but everything else in those other territories came in for us which is a good thing overall for VGL but sucks for the SLC area.
:(
Sorry about that. Hope you understand. But don't worry! We did 3 sold out shows in SLC last year so of COURSE we're gonna be back!

Yeah, I know you'll be back, it's just a matter of when, also, I am not sure if you would have been back at Abravanel Hall this year because we are getting Play! and I don't know how people would have responded to having two video game themed concerts in one year, although I would have loved it.

As soon as I read what Tommy wrote I got my tickets for Play!. I'm just hoping it'll be as good as VGL. Although I, too, would have gone to see them both.
Also, I do hope that VGL will come back not only to SLC but to Ogden since the first show and only sold out show in Utah last year was in Ogden. But I'm perfectly happy with it coming to Abravanel Hall since I'm willing to travel further for the awesome experience, it was just nice to have the show in my own neighborhood.

I'm betting Play! won't be quite as epic. By that I mean no laser lights, costume contests, video screens, fog machines and general mayhem. I'm guessing that Play! will be a lot more subdued.

Yeah, from what I understand, VGL is more about the games so it tends to be more like a rock concert and appeal more towards gamers and Play! is more about the music so it appeals more towards the people who love music and already enjoy going to a night at the symphony.

Everytime I see a VGL/Play comparison, I always think back to Brainiac's extremely appropriate comment.

Sweet, we are back on the tour dates page for 2010, although there is still no date for it the fact that we are there before 2010 is a good sign.
Also, saw Play! last night and enjoyed it, until the very end when they again decided that they needed to play One Winged Angel. Why is it that every video game concert feels the need to end with that one? I know it is a popular song, but I feel it is getting stale because it is so overplayed. There are plenty of epic songs out there to end with that haven't been done to death and would be just as awesome to hear live.

Trust me, you're not the only one with that opinion. Swish is prone to a touch of vitriol over VGL's version in particular.

My top favorite segment was World of Warcraft, then tied for 2nd was probably God of War and Advent Rising, then probably Halo. Lots of good ones :) You can probably see I'm a fan of the big grand epic ones. Chrono Cross and the live guitar hero were cool too.
I don't know if you play it often, but I really like the Warcraft Invincible song. Last time you came I enjoyed the Medal of Honor song. Uncharted could be cool. For new ideas, there's some old school Rainbow Six music that's very good, or even some Battlefield 1942\2142.
My friends really enjoyed it, they had a lot of fun.
