What video game related cartoon show have you watched in your lifetime?
Come on, don't be shy now... ;)

I've watched:
- Super Mario Brothers Super Show & Captain N
- Sonic (saturday morning one...)
- Sonic Underground (was pretty weak...)
- The Legend of Zelda (excuuuuusseee me! Princess!)
Maybe a few more but I don't remember them.

I used to watch Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog back in the days. It was broadcasted in a pirate TV channel. Aahhh.... the golden era of pirate broadcasts, I miss those days...
Then I still watched the first series of the Pokémon anime.
And I think that was it...
I also remember Sonic Underground but I didn't enjoyed the show.
(saturday morning one...)
Non-British folks will have no idea which one. :p

Those ones, Pokemon, I suppose Digimon would sort of count as well. I'm not sure if there are actually any more out there, at least for British viewers... Either that or I didn't get any of the decent channels with them on...
Curiously, I think my first encounter with Super Mario Bros. 3 cartoon was at primary school when they had it on VCR and would break it out as something to amuse us when it was too wet for us to go outside... or something like that... I don't think I ever caught it on any regular basis on live tv...

Lucky you!
When I was a kid they used to make us watch animal farm ....BRRRR!...
(It was like the only tape they had, AND, that film is total nightmare fuel!)
I suppose Digimon
I'm not sure, but I think Digimon franchise, unlike Pokémon, started on the TV and was later adapted to VG industry.

Is that the Sonic the Hedgehog that's also known as Sonic SatAM? The only Sonic shows I've watched was "The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" and "Sonic X".... sorry for bringing up the second one. >.<'
BTW - Julian Robotnik is SCARY! Way more eviler than the current Robotnik.
In speaking of Sonic X here's what Julian Robotnik thinks about it. -Robotnik Hates 4kids- (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dydo_KQBIw)

Never was much of a TV viewer. Pretty much the only video game cartoon I've seen would be Pokemon (went all the way up to the end of the Johto League, and then I stopped).
VG related? Perhaps Digimon (although I believe don is right by saying Digimon started on TV before transitioning to cards and video games, albeit briefly).
"Sonic X".... sorry for bringing up the second one. >.<'
I didn't even try to take a look at Sonic X. Is it bad or did I missjudge?
I heard there were some references to Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 plot, including appearences of the final bosses. Is it true?

Well there's Pokemon of course! :D
I was a bit young to really remember shows like "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show," "Captain N," and "Zelda," when they originally aired, but I have seen several episodes of them since then.
I have a tape of one block of morning cartoons that has a few episodes of Club Mario, which is the same cartoon as SMBSS but with the live action segments replaced, one episode of Captain N (the one with Link and the potion of power), some episodes of Ninja Turtles, an episode of SMB3, and a commercial for the upcoming episode of Zelda ("Kiss 'N Tell").
I also have some of the store-bought SMBSS tapes, and now I have both volumes of the DVD collection.
Unlike a lot of people, I really don't hate the Zelda cartoon. I actually think it's really entertaining and cheesy! Plus, there wasn't exactly a serious Zelda storyline at the time.

According to some reliable sources (Wikipedia... where else?), Digimon started as a digital electronic pet similar to Tamagotchi, before being launched into the media franchise including the anime, card game and video games. Whether you consider those virtual pet key-chain type things to be 'Video Games' is perhaps a debate for another Gamer Questions! slot, but I think Digimon, much like Tron and other similar franchises, due to the subject being so closely linked to video games and digital media, I don't think its possible to completely separate one from the other. Yes the Tron film came before any related video games and sure the Digimon anime arrived before any of the console games, but without the digital recreational medium of video games and virtual entertainment, neither would have even existed, so in that respect, I think I'd class Digimon as a video game show.
Besides, I'd be incredibly surprised if, when the Digimon franchise first starting moving into what it is today, when the anime was put forward, they weren't already considering video game adaptations as well. so perhaps from a conceptual level, although the anime was released prior to the video games, the idea for the two likely came at a similar time.

And I'd like to add to Myrph's point here by saying that it is a children's cartoon, and therefore it doesn't really matter.

Are you kidding? Animation is the very definition of Serious Business (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SeriousBusiness)!

We're talking up 'till now about children cartoons in this thread, therefore it has just any relevance as other cartoons here. It was a phenomenon back then for youngsters, so a bit of "general" knowledge doesn't hurt.

I would just like to announce that I clicked on that link. And I actually only stayed for like a minute and did not read any other pages. I'm proud of myself. Next I'll try eating only one potato chip

Aww, since when do children's cartoons not matter?

Children's cartoon? Do you realize how much you have in common when you can maintain 2 hour discussions about the finer point of Pokemon cartoons?
Granted, we quickly moved from the anime, to the video game, to the card game, to the card game video game, to the video game video game, and back to the anime before moving to the movies....

I'm not sure if I did get that, but we grew up with those. Truth is they became a social mark.
How many hours did each one of us dedicated in watching those shows and playing with related stuff.
They might actually contributed in the way we are, specially when we were younger. Some of our moral/ethical behaviours may have come from that. They were degined to transmit a socially defined good standart, so kids want to be like them.

I only have the standards as well, Pokemon and Digimon. and occasionally I'll see a random show on a cartoon network that is based off of Kirby or Sonic or whoever. And Yugioh of course.
Everything is just as serious as you want it to be. I treat a lot of debates seriously just until i grow bored of the situation because only circles are being made. Movement from topic to topic seamlessly is important for a discussion that is not governed by rules in an actual debate controlled by an overseer of some sort.

Before I begin let me first say that I'm not trying to bash the Sonic franchise; I wanted to make that clear so that I don't give any Sonic fan the impression of me being an arrogant person.
Actually, the series was created in Japan and then was localized to other countries. The story... I don't know exactly how to describe my opinion to it other than it feels like a mediocre fanfic; it could of been something great, but it's not. Quite a bit of the stories in the saga involves the human characters and there interactions with the Sonic characters; the story gives them spotlight, but I really don't care them at all. Not to mention that they're pretty stereotyped characters.
After several episodes of the Sonic character getting familiar in their new world that's when the game related stories begin: Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, and Sonic Battle. However, that being said, the human characters are thrown into the fray and intermingle with the story lines. For example, in SA2, instead of Amy convincing Shadow to 'you know what' it's the main human character that does so. The last season deals with less humans and is an original plot line.
Of course in the hands of 4kids they tend to mess things up in order for the show to be kid friendly even though the show was made for an older age group; Yu-Gi-Oh is a perfect example of that. For example, the video link in my previous post Sonic X's Dr. Eggman says it's bad to hurt someone and whatever... do you really think he said that in the original; I doubt it. On top of that they tone everything down like deaths and relationships. One of the strangest changes they did to the show was during the final boss of SA2; the 4kids version had dull battle music, the original actually had Live and Learn in it!

Too late, I already take you for such a Knuckles :p JK.
I'm not that guy with the room full of Sonic merchadise, lol. But I think Sonic was a breeze of fresh air for the sidescrolling platforms when it appeared, and until Sonic Adventure 2 has managed to gathered the best of genre at the time it was released. I still find hard to find platform games as much enjoyable for me as SA and SA2.

In the end of Sonic Adventure 2, during the credits mostly, it's shown a softer side of Eggman, talking to Tails. I dont see him as the dark evil antagonist, at least on SA an SA2, it's more like the bad humoured greedy clown, lol.
About Final Hazard, that's probably about the copy rights. And about that, they wanted to make it kids friendly, yet they putted a dinosaur-like creature with a giant energy canon stuck up is @##

Yeah, I completely thought that onigiri in the Pokemon cartoon were extremely inappropriate for little kids. Jelly-filled donuts are far less offensive. And so are giant sandwiches. :p (Personally, they just made me extremely confused when they called them donuts, and it made a lot more sense when they were called riceballs.)
In all fairness, I actually generally loved the 4kids Pokemon cartoons and think the show got worse after they weren't being dubbed by 4kids anymore. But I have heard of what they've done to other shows, although I don't really watch a lot of 4kids cartoons.

Okay, this is a little off topic, but it works... sort of. So I was looking at some Saturday morning cartoons and ran into a rather strange episode from a cartoon called "Coconut Fred's Fruit Salad Island." Basically it's a parody of video games, but I'm really stunned that Square-Enix actually allowed the shows characters to dress up as Cloud and Sephiroth; they've must of been drunk or something because that's unusually uncharacteristic of them. I've linked the episode here if you want to see it for yourselves; watch at your own risk.

This show sounds kind of familiar but I'm not really familiar with it. But yeah, I'm pretty surprised that they were able to use FF7 character outfits in the show. Still not quite as epic as Scarthcaroth (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFDEJCaRyX4&feature=channel) though :D
They've alowed Robot Chicken before (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oQsQsd0afs).

Am I seriously the only one here who watched Donkey Kong Country?! Sure there was a lot of singing and dancing, but it was good for what it was; of course, that's from when I was younger and more easily amused.

I remember watching a few episodes of Donkey Kong Country, and from what I remember it was a pretty good show. I guess I just never remembered to watch it on a more regular basis. Plus, it was cool that they used computer animation for it; that was something that was becoming more popular at the time I suppose.

I may have watched one or two episodes but never caught my attention much.
