What do you want to see done to the future releases of game consoles?

I want to see more of programming tools like XNA.

Especially if they can make a powerful, yet easy to use development kit.
(XNA is fairly close, but its still fairly inacessable, and pretty hard to learn to use)

I'd prefer it if they did it in two ways.

A basic kit, where fairly simple games can be made, but the games are free to upload/download. (Think like the basic version of Game Maker, (but a bit more flexible, so fairly decent games CAN be made... so the store isn't filled with too much crap. Think Kongregate level of quality...)

A Pro kit, where more tools are available, and restrictions are removed, and the games can be sold, but developers have to pay a fee to set up, and upload the games that they make.

I order to make a game "powefully" you need to know how to code in different languages, so you can create from higher to lower level as your needs.

XNA is an excellent tool to start coding. As you create games in there you are learning the basics and then you can more easilly move to programming languages.

I agree in creating interface-based programs to make accessible the creation of simple games to everyone, but "power" needs you to go in a more lower level.

I'd love to see a return to the old days of gaming. Not cloud gaming or anything like that, and probably not a glut of downloadable games without anything on physical media. Maybe even a reduction in the graphical quality, or at least a plateau so that more focus could be put on getting interesting gameplay and engaging storylines instead of games which merely showcase the graphical platform and the number of drops of blood the processor can render...

Playstation 1 era puzzle games and point and click adventures here I come!

I don't think that really has anything to do with future consoles....

But on that subject, I'd love to see some more games akin to Myst. (In fact, any recommendations out there for games similar to Myst?)
